Description
CVE-2024-47666 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's pm80xx SCSI driver where a late PHY control response triggers a kernel crash. The issue arises because the function pm8001_phy_control() uses a stack address for enable_completion, which becomes invalid if the response is delayed beyond the function's 300 ms wait. This leads to a use-after-return condition causing a kernel crash.
