AI-suggested
To mitigate CVE-2024-48782, organizations should immediately implement robust server-side validation of uploaded files rather than relying solely on front-end checks. This includes verifying file MIME types, using allowlists for acceptable file types, and scanning uploaded files for malicious content. Restrict upload directories with proper permissions to prevent execution of uploaded files, such as disabling script execution in upload folders. Employ web application firewalls (WAFs) to detect and block suspicious upload attempts. Monitor logs for unusual file upload activity and conduct regular security audits of the CMS environment. If possible, upgrade to a patched version once available or apply vendor-recommended fixes. Additionally, implement network segmentation and least privilege principles to limit the impact of potential compromises. Educate developers and administrators on secure file upload practices to prevent similar vulnerabilities.
Description
File Upload vulnerability in DYCMS Open-Source Version v2.0.9.41 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via the application only detecting the extension of image files in the front-end.
