AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1066.69 and later. Users should update to one of the fixed kernel versions to resolve this issue. No additional mitigation actions are required as the fix prevents the problematic HPD event during resume.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD display driver could cause a system hang during resume from suspend when connected to a Thunderbolt (TBT) monitor. The issue arises because the TBT monitor's hot-plug detect (HPD) triggers during resume, calling drm_client_modeset_probe() while a critical device pointer is NULL, disrupting pipe topology. This flaw has been fixed by skipping the TBT monitor HPD during resume, as connector probing occurs afterward by default.
