AI-suggested

To mitigate this vulnerability, organizations should implement strict input validation and sanitization for all user-supplied content, especially SVG files uploaded or processed by the Create User function. Employing a whitelist approach to allowed SVG elements and attributes can reduce risk. Additionally, output encoding should be enforced to prevent script execution in browsers. Restricting the Create User function to trusted users and minimizing privileges can reduce exploitation likelihood. Implement Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to limit script execution sources and reduce impact if exploitation occurs. Monitoring logs for suspicious activity related to user creation and SVG uploads can help detect attempts. Until official patches are released, consider disabling SVG uploads or the Create User function if feasible. Regularly check for updates from UnoPim and apply patches promptly once available.

Description

UnoPim 0.1.3 and below is vulnerable to Cross Site Scripting (XSS) in the Create User function. This allows attackers to perform XSS via an SVG document, which can be used to steal cookies.
