What to do

AI-suggested

  1. Immediately verify if your Draytek Vigor3900 devices are running firmware version 1.5.1.3 and restrict access to the management interface to trusted networks only.
  2. Implement network segmentation to isolate vulnerable devices from critical internal networks and limit exposure to potential attackers.
  3. Employ strict access controls and multi-factor authentication for device management interfaces to reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
  4. Monitor network traffic and device logs for unusual commands or access patterns indicative of exploitation attempts targeting mainfunction.cgi or the get_rrd function.
  5. Disable or restrict the use of the vulnerable CGI interface if possible until an official patch is released.
  6. Engage with Draytek support or vendor channels to obtain updates on patch availability and apply firmware updates promptly once released.
  7. Consider deploying web application firewalls or intrusion prevention systems with custom rules to detect and block command injection attempts targeting this vulnerability.
  8. Conduct regular security assessments and penetration tests focusing on network devices to identify and remediate similar vulnerabilities proactively.

Description

In Draytek Vigor3900 1.5.1.3, attackers can inject malicious commands into mainfunction.cgi and execute arbitrary commands by calling the get_rrd function.
