Description
A null pointer dereference vulnerability was fixed in the Linux kernel's idpf driver related to the virtchnl mailbox handling during device control plane reset and reboot sequences. The issue occurs when the driver retries mailbox initialization while the device control plane is not yet started, leading to use-after-free conditions. This can cause a denial of service due to kernel crashes. The flaw has been addressed by correcting the order of mailbox deinitialization and workqueue cancellation.
