What to do
AI-suggested
- Immediately restrict access to the router’s management interface by limiting it to trusted IP addresses or disabling remote management if not needed.
- Enforce strong authentication mechanisms and change default credentials to prevent unauthorized access.
- Monitor network traffic and router logs for unusual commands or access patterns that could indicate exploitation attempts.
- Segment the network to isolate the router from sensitive internal resources, reducing potential lateral movement.
- If possible, downgrade or upgrade firmware to a version not affected by this vulnerability once a patch is released.
- Employ network-level protections such as firewalls or intrusion detection/prevention systems to detect and block suspicious activity targeting the router.
- Educate users about the risk of interacting with unsolicited prompts or links that might trigger the required user interaction for exploitation.
- Regularly check vendor advisories for updates or patches addressing this vulnerability and apply them promptly when available.
