What to do

AI-suggested

Until a fix is applied, avoid triggering the probe error path that leads to the crash. Monitor official Linux kernel advisories for updates and apply patches once available.

Description

CVE-2024-56576 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's media i2c tc358743 driver where a crash occurs in the probe error path when using polling. The issue arises because the polling timer is not removed if an error occurs during probe(), leading to a timer callback on freed memory and causing a kernel crash.
