AI-suggested

Until an official patch is released, organizations should implement network-level protections such as firewall rules to restrict access to MonetDB Server instances to trusted IP addresses only. Employing Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) or SQL query filtering mechanisms can help detect and block suspicious or malformed SQL statements targeting the BATcalcbetween_intern function. Monitoring database server logs for unusual query patterns or crashes can provide early warning signs of exploitation attempts. Additionally, running MonetDB Server with the least privileges necessary and isolating it within segmented network zones reduces the attack surface. Once patches become available, prompt application of updates is critical. Organizations should also review and harden their SQL query validation and input sanitization practices to prevent injection-like attacks.

Description

An issue in the BATcalcbetween_intern component of MonetDB Server v11.47.11 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via crafted SQL statements.
