Published: 09/09/2026 (09/09/2026, 13:31:55 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: pmmp
Product: PocketMine-MP

Description

PocketMine-MP versions before 5.11.1 have a denial of service vulnerability in the LoginPacket JSON processing. Remote attackers can send malformed JSON data that causes improper object initialization, triggering unset required properties and crashing the server. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to disrupt service availability.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2024-58381 is a denial of service vulnerability in PocketMine-MP prior to version 5.11.1. The flaw arises from improper handling of JSON data in the LoginPacket processing, where scalar JSON types lead to incorrect object initialization. This results in unset required properties that cause the application to crash when processing malformed JSON sent by remote attackers.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated remote attacker can cause the PocketMine-MP server to crash by sending specially crafted malformed JSON data during login. This results in denial of service, disrupting availability of the affected server. There is no indication of code execution or data disclosure from the provided information.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official fix or patch is currently confirmed. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, consider restricting access to the server or implementing network-level protections to limit exposure to untrusted clients sending malformed JSON data.
