Description

CVE-2025-0624 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in grub2 occurring during the network boot process. The flaw arises when grub copies data from a user-controlled environment variable into an internal buffer without properly accounting for the variable's length, leading to memory corruption. Successful exploitation could allow remote code execution within the same network segment used for boot information retrieval, potentially bypassing secure boot protections. Red Hat has released security updates addressing this issue in grub2 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 variants.
