Technical Analysis

CVE-2025-15673 is a CWE-22 path traversal vulnerability affecting the Import and export users and customers WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.4.3. The plugin does not properly limit the pathname of files it reads and displays during CSV import, enabling users with high privileges to access arbitrary files on the server filesystem.

Potential Impact

An attacker with high privileges on the WordPress site can read arbitrary files on the server, potentially exposing sensitive information. This could lead to information disclosure but requires already elevated permissions.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation guidance is currently available. Users should upgrade to version 2.4.3 or later once it is released to address this issue. Until then, restrict high-privileged user access to trusted individuals only. Monitor the vendor advisory for updates on patches or fixes.
