Users should monitor the vendor advisory for updates and consider restricting access to the block editor or disabling the Cloud Blocks plugin until a fix is available. Implementing web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block malicious script injections may provide temporary mitigation.
Description
The Cloud Blocks WordPress plugin up to version 1.1.8 contains a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. It fails to perform authorization or sanitization when storing block asset URLs, allowing unauthenticated users to inject malicious scripts. These scripts execute in the browsers of privileged users, such as administrators, when they open the block editor.
