What to do

AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, affected systems should consider avoiding workloads that trigger the v3d driver IRQ handling or apply kernel updates once a fix is released.

Description

CVE-2025-21688 is a race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/v3d driver. It arises from improper handling of a job pointer during GPU job completion, leading to a potential NULL pointer dereference and kernel crash. The flaw occurs due to concurrent access between the DRM scheduler workqueue and the IRQ execution thread. This can cause a system crash when the GPU emits an interrupt after a job completes.
