AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions (notably 5.4.0-1147.157~18.04.1 and later). Users should update their Linux kernel to one of the fixed versions listed in the advisory to remediate this issue. After updating, a system reboot is required. No additional mitigations are necessary as the issue is resolved by the official kernel update.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Radeon GPU driver (radeon_vce_cs_parse function) caused an uninitialized variable 'size' to be used, potentially leading to a denial of service. This occurs when a specially crafted command stream is passed from userspace via ioctl, triggering a call to radeon_vce_cs_reloc() with an uninitialized size argument. The issue has been fixed by initializing the variable properly to prevent erroneous behavior.
