Description

CGM CLININET contains a critical vulnerability (CVE-2025-30047) involving deserialization of untrusted data in its HTTP-based API used by the administrative module. An attacker on the same local network can send crafted serialized Java objects that, when deserialized by the server, lead to remote code execution with root privileges. This vulnerability is fixed in version 2026.MS3.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2025-30047 is a critical remote code execution vulnerability in CGM CLININET caused by unsafe deserialization of untrusted Java objects via an HTTP API used by the administrative module. An attacker with local network access can exploit this by sending malicious serialized objects, resulting in arbitrary code execution with root privileges on the server. The vulnerability is addressed in version 2026.MS3.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an attacker on the same local network to execute arbitrary code with root privileges on the CGM CLININET server, potentially leading to full system compromise. The vulnerability affects the administrative API that uses Java object serialization without proper validation.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available and the issue is fixed in CGM CLININET version 2026.MS3. Users should upgrade to this version to remediate the vulnerability. Since this is a cloud service, the vendor manages remediation for the hosted environment; verify with the vendor advisory for cloud-specific patching status.
