AI-suggested
A patch is available and included in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-1046.49~22.04.1 and later. Users should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official update.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net: libwx component involved improper handling of page_pool_dev_alloc_pages errors. The function page_pool_dev_alloc_pages could return NULL, and despite a warning, the kernel would proceed to use the NULL pointer, causing a crash. This issue has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0 and later.
