An official patch is available and included in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-1046.49~22.04.1 and later, as well as other specified fixed versions. Users and administrators should update affected Linux kernel versions to these fixed releases to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the vendor-provided updates.
Description
CVE-2025-37772 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA/cma subsystem where a workqueue crash can occur due to reuse of a work_struct member in struct rdma_cm_id. Multiple rapid calls to cma_netevent_callback() can overwrite queued work items, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel crash. The issue is fixed by initializing the work_struct earlier to avoid race conditions. This flaw affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 6.8.0-1046.49~22.04.1 and similar builds. A patch is available and included in several fixed kernel releases.
