A patch is available and has been released in multiple fixed Linux kernel versions starting from 5.15.0-1088.95~20.04.1 and others. Users should update their Linux kernel to one of the fixed versions to remediate this issue. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official kernel update.
Description
CVE-2025-37787 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mv88e6xxx driver where the system may dereference a NULL pointer during driver unbinding. This occurs because the driver attempts to unregister devlink regions that were never registered, leading to a crash. The issue arises from conditional registration of certain devlink regions that, if skipped, cause the unregistration function to receive NULL pointers. The flaw has been fixed by avoiding unregistration of these NULL regions.
