AI-suggested
To mitigate this vulnerability, organizations should immediately audit their Live Helper Chat deployments and restrict access to the Facebook Chat module to trusted users only. Input validation and output encoding must be enforced rigorously on the 'Surname' parameter and any other user-supplied data fields to prevent injection of malicious scripts. If you cannot patch yet, applying web application firewalls (WAFs) with custom rules to detect and block suspicious payloads targeting the Recipient Lists can reduce risk. Additionally, organizations should implement strict Content Security Policies (CSP) to limit the execution of unauthorized scripts in browsers. Regular user training to recognize phishing or social engineering attempts that might trigger the malicious payload is also recommended.
Description
A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Facebook Chat module of Live Helper Chat v4.60 allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML via injecting a crafted payload into the Surname parameter under the Recipient' Lists.
