Technical Analysis

This vulnerability involves a race condition in the Wi-Fi driver of various Samsung Exynos processors. Improper synchronization on a global variable allows a double free memory error when ioctl functions are invoked concurrently from multiple threads. This flaw could potentially be exploited to cause memory corruption or instability in affected devices.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability can lead to a double free condition, which may cause memory corruption, application crashes, or potentially enable further exploitation depending on the context of use. However, no known exploits are reported in the wild, and the exact impact on confidentiality, integrity, or availability is not detailed.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, avoid running untrusted code that can invoke ioctl calls concurrently on affected devices. Monitor vendor channels for updates.
