Technical Analysis

CVE-2025-68711 affects AppLockZ App Lock and Fingerprint Lock (version 4.2.11) on Android. The app's PIN lock is implemented as an overlay instead of leveraging Android's secure authentication APIs. This insecure design allows a local attacker with physical access to bypass the lock by exploiting navigation through exposed routes triggered by advertisement or browser intents. Consequently, the attacker can evade lockscreen verification and access protected applications, resulting in information disclosure and privilege escalation.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability permits a local attacker with physical access to bypass the app lock PIN, potentially exposing sensitive information within protected apps and escalating privileges on the device. This undermines the security guarantees of the AppLockZ application, compromising user data confidentiality and device integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, users should avoid leaving their devices unattended and consider uninstalling or disabling AppLockZ if protection of sensitive apps is critical.
