Description
CVE-2025-68818 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's qla2xxx SCSI driver. It involves a NULL pointer dereference caused by improper handling of command completion in the abort path, specifically when the command type is TYPE_TGT_CMD in target mode. This flaw leads to kernel crashes and system instability. The issue was introduced by a commit that removed a spinlock and failed to check the command type, resulting in jumps to invalid pointers. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions and has been fixed by reverting the problematic commit and restoring proper locking and checks.
