A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux Azure kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue has been fixed in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed versions to remediate this vulnerability.

Description

An off-by-one vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iavf driver was fixed, which caused out-of-bounds reads and writes when configuring the RSS hash key and lookup table. The issue was due to incorrect loop bounds allowing access one element past the end of arrays. This could lead to memory corruption and denial of service. The flaw affects certain Linux Azure kernel versions prior to specified patch levels. A fix is available and has been incorporated in updated kernel releases.
