A fix is available that rewrites the mr_check_range() function to perform overflow-safe range checks, preventing out-of-bounds access. Users should update affected Linux kernel versions to the fixed releases. No alternative mitigations are specified.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA rxe driver allowed an integer overflow in the mr_check_range() function, leading to out-of-bounds memory access. This flaw could be triggered by a remote unauthenticated peer crafting specific RDMA-Write/Read requests, causing a kernel crash (oops). The issue has been fixed by rewriting the range check to prevent integer overflow and out-of-bounds access.
