AI-suggested

A fix for this vulnerability is available and has been applied in specific Linux kernel commits. Users and administrators should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes, such as version 6.11 or later with the relevant patches applied. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

CVE-2025-71099 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/xe/oa component, specifically in the xe_oa_add_config_ioctl() function. The flaw occurs because the code accesses oa_config->id after releasing a lock that protects the lifetime of the oa_config object, allowing an attacker to trigger a race condition that frees the object before use. This can lead to memory corruption with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The issue has been fixed by caching the id while holding the lock. The vulnerability affects Linux kernel version 6.11.
