Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Satel
Product: Satel Netco Design

Description

Satel Netco Design versions prior to 2.1.7 contain a relative path traversal vulnerability in the data export functionality. An authenticated user with Viewer privileges can exploit this flaw to write attacker-controlled content to file system locations accessible by the application service. This could lead to unauthorized file creation or modification and potentially arbitrary code execution under certain conditions.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-101024 is a relative path traversal vulnerability (CWE-23) in Satel Netco Design's data export feature affecting versions before 2.1.7. An attacker with Viewer-level authentication can manipulate file paths to write arbitrary content to the file system, possibly resulting in unauthorized file creation or modification. In some scenarios, this may escalate to arbitrary code execution. The vulnerability has a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.7, indicating high severity. No official patch links are provided in the data, and the product is not a cloud service.

Potential Impact

Exploitation allows an authenticated user with limited privileges (Viewer) to write files to locations accessible by the application service, potentially leading to unauthorized file system changes. This may escalate to arbitrary code execution, posing a significant security risk to affected systems.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict Viewer-level user access and monitor for suspicious activity related to file exports.
