Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-101138 is an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284) in the CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance WordPress plugin before version 4.1.21. The plugin fails to correctly apply maintenance mode restrictions to pages that are manually whitelisted by URL pattern, resulting in unauthorized public access to those pages during maintenance mode. This issue affects versions 4.1.19 and 4.1.20.

Potential Impact

Unauthenticated users can view the content of pages that should be restricted during maintenance mode if those pages are added to the whitelist by manually entered URL patterns. This leads to unintended information disclosure but does not impact integrity or availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance plugin to version 4.1.21 or later, where this access control issue is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated.
