Published: 10/02/2026 (10/02/2026, 09:31:16 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Product: CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance

Description

The CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance WordPress plugin before 4.1.20 does not correctly restrict access to the site while maintenance/coming-soon mode is enabled, allowing unauthenticated visitors to bypass the coming-soon page and reach the otherwise hidden site, including hidden published pages, by shaping the request so it is mistaken for a login request.

Technical Analysis

The CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance WordPress plugin prior to version 4.1.20 contains an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284). When the plugin's maintenance or coming-soon mode is active, it fails to correctly restrict access to the site. This flaw allows unauthenticated users to bypass the intended access restrictions by shaping their requests to be mistaken for login requests, thereby gaining access to hidden published pages and other site content that should remain inaccessible.

Potential Impact

Unauthenticated attackers can bypass the coming-soon or maintenance page restrictions and access hidden published pages and site content that is intended to be concealed during maintenance periods. This results in information disclosure but does not affect integrity or availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance plugin version 4.1.20. Users should upgrade to version 4.1.20 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation steps are indicated.
