Technical Analysis
This vulnerability (CVE-2026-102067) is due to improper validation of specified quantity in input in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved. When L2 LSP support is enabled, an adjacent unauthenticated attacker can send a crafted RSVP packet that triggers a denial of service condition. The issue is classified under CWE-1284. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 6.5 (AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H), indicating a medium severity denial of service vulnerability exploitable without privileges or user interaction but requiring adjacency.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows an adjacent unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service on affected Junos OS devices by sending specially crafted RSVP packets when L2 LSP support is enabled. This results in service disruption (availability impact) without affecting confidentiality or integrity. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, consider disabling L2 LSP support if feasible to mitigate exposure. Monitor vendor communications for patches or updates addressing this vulnerability.
