Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: pickplugins
Product: PickPlugins Question Answer

Description

The PickPlugins Question Answer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection in versions up to and including 1.2.73. This is due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied input via the 'id' GET parameter in the user profile template combined with the use of wp_unslash() which removes WordPress's magic quotes protection, followed by direct concatenation into a SQL query without proper escaping or prepared statements in the qa_user_profile_card() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into existing queries, which can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-10207 describes an SQL Injection vulnerability in the PickPlugins Question Answer WordPress plugin, affecting versions up to and including 1.2.73. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient sanitization of the 'id' GET parameter, which is processed with wp_unslash(), removing magic quotes protection, and then concatenated directly into a SQL query in the qa_user_profile_card() function without proper escaping or use of prepared statements. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary SQL commands, potentially leading to unauthorized data disclosure.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can allow unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive information from the database by injecting additional SQL queries. The CVSS score of 7.5 (high) reflects the network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and high confidentiality impact with no integrity or availability impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, users should consider disabling or restricting access to the vulnerable plugin functionality to prevent exploitation. Avoid exposing the 'id' GET parameter to untrusted input or implement manual input validation and sanitization as a temporary mitigation.
