Technical Analysis

This vulnerability arises from insufficient verification of data authenticity (CWE-345) in Kiteworks Core. Specifically, when an authenticated administrator initiates an administrative import, the system validates only the file header rather than the entire file content. This incomplete validation could allow unverified or forged data to be imported, compromising the integrity of the imported data.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability impacts the integrity of imported data by allowing potentially forged or unverified content to be accepted and processed. There is no impact on confidentiality or availability according to the CVSS vector. The attack requires administrator privileges but no user interaction.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict administrative import privileges to trusted personnel and validate imported data through additional manual or automated checks where possible.
