Upgrade Kroki to version 0.31.2 or later, where this path traversal vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the vendor has provided an official fix.
Description
Kroki versions prior to 0.31.2 have a path traversal vulnerability in the TikZ backend when KROKI_SAFE_MODE is enabled. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to submit crafted LaTeX code that reads arbitrary files accessible to the Kroki container user. The contents of these files are then rendered into the SVG output, potentially exposing sensitive data such as secrets, credentials, and private keys. The issue is fixed in version 0.31.2.
