Users should verify if a vendor advisory or update has been released to address this issue. Until a fix is available, consider disabling the Payex Payment Gateway plugin or implementing additional verification controls on payment notifications to prevent unauthorized order payment confirmation.

Description

The Payex Payment Gateway for Woocommerce WordPress plugin versions up to 1.2.10 contains an authentication flaw. It does not properly verify the authenticity of incoming payment notifications because it relies on a validation secret that is empty by default. This allows unauthenticated attackers to forge payment confirmations and mark any order as paid.
