A fix is available in ZITADEL versions 3.4.14 and 4.16.2. Users should upgrade to these versions or later to remediate the vulnerability. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated in the provided data.
Description
ZITADEL versions before 3.4.14 and 4.x before 4.16.2 have an authentication bypass vulnerability in the hosted Login V1 UI. The flaw arises because the 'external account not found' registration endpoint trusts client-supplied external identity fields without verifying a completed identity provider (IdP) callback. This allows unauthenticated attackers to forge IDPConfigID and ExternalUserID values to pre-create accounts linked to a victim's external IdP identity. When the victim later logs in genuinely via the external IdP, they are signed into the attacker's pre-created account.
