Description

The LatePoint WordPress plugin before 5.7.5 does not validate the client-supplied value that determines how much is charged for a booking against the amounts the service and site actually allow, allowing an unauthenticated visitor to make the amount due resolve to zero and obtain a confirmed appointment and a recorded order without completing any payment.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105256 is an insufficient verification of data authenticity vulnerability (CWE-345) in the LatePoint WordPress plugin versions prior to 5.7.5. The plugin fails to validate the client-supplied value that determines the booking charge amount against the legitimate amounts configured by the service and site. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to manipulate the amount due to zero, thereby obtaining a confirmed appointment and a recorded order without completing any payment transaction.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to bypass payment requirements for bookings, resulting in confirmed appointments and recorded orders without any payment. This leads to potential financial loss and abuse of the booking system's integrity. The vulnerability does not impact confidentiality or availability but impacts the integrity of payment processing.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in LatePoint version 5.7.5 and later. Users should upgrade to version 5.7.5 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation is indicated by the vendor advisory.
