CVE-2026-105741: CWE-290: Authentication Bypass by Spoofing in langflow-ai langflow
Description
Langflow versions from 1.5.0 up to but not including 1.10.3 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability due to IP spoofing in the Model Context Protocol configuration installation endpoint. This flaw allows authenticated remote attackers to bypass the local-only access restriction by spoofing the X-Forwarded-For header to appear as localhost. Exploitation enables attackers to write or overwrite MCP client configuration files on the server. The vulnerability is fixed in version 1.10.3.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-105741 describes an authentication bypass vulnerability in langflow's Model Context Protocol (MCP) configuration installation endpoint (POST /api/v1/mcp/project/{project_id}/install). From versions 1.5.0 through 1.10.2, the server improperly trusts the X-Forwarded-For header, allowing an authenticated remote attacker to spoof the IP address as 127.0.0.1 (localhost). This bypasses the intended 'local-only' access restriction, permitting the attacker to write or overwrite MCP client configuration files on the server filesystem. The issue is resolved in langflow version 1.10.3.
Potential Impact
An attacker with authentication privileges can bypass local-only access restrictions by spoofing the X-Forwarded-For header, enabling unauthorized modification of MCP client configuration files. This could lead to integrity compromise of the server's configuration and potentially impact the behavior of AI-powered agents and workflows managed by langflow. There is no indication of confidentiality or availability impact. No known exploits are reported in the wild.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade langflow to version 1.10.3 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are specified. Patch status is confirmed as fixed in 1.10.3.
