CVE-2026-108594: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in mealie-recipes mealie
Description
Mealie versions 3.26.0 through 3.28.0 have a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the OpenID Connect avatar fetch feature. This flaw allows authenticated OIDC users who can control their picture URL to cause the server to send GET requests to arbitrary ports on the identity provider's internal address during login. The vulnerability arises because the allowlist for the identity provider hostname ignores port numbers.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-108594 describes an SSRF vulnerability in Mealie versions 3.26.0 to 3.28.0. The issue is in the OpenID Connect avatar fetch mechanism, which does not properly validate the port component of URLs when allowlisting the identity provider hostname. Authenticated users with control over their avatar URL can exploit this to make the server perform GET requests to arbitrary ports on the internal network of the identity provider upon each login.
Potential Impact
An attacker with authenticated OIDC user privileges can leverage this vulnerability to make the Mealie server send arbitrary GET requests to internal services on the identity provider's network. This could potentially be used to probe internal services or trigger unintended actions on internal ports. The CVSS score is low (2.3), indicating limited impact and exploitability.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict or monitor authenticated user control over avatar URLs and consider network-level controls to limit outbound requests from the Mealie server to sensitive internal ports.
