Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-108771 is a vulnerability in Apache Kylin involving missing authentication for a critical function, specifically related to in-house broadcast and polymorphic deserialization. This security weakness allows unauthorized access to sensitive functionality if the affected Kylin service is exposed to the public network. The vulnerability affects Apache Kylin versions from 4.0.0 up to and including 5.0.4. The vendor has released version 5.0.5 to address this issue.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability could allow unauthorized users to access critical functions in Apache Kylin if the service is exposed to the public network. However, since most in-house deployments do not expose Kylin services publicly, the practical impact is limited in typical environments. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade Apache Kylin to version 5.0.5, which contains the official fix for this vulnerability. Since this is an authentication bypass issue, applying the vendor's update is the recommended remediation.
