Published: 10/11/2026 (10/11/2026, 14:58:06 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: ph7software
Product: ph7builder

Description

pH7Builder versions before 18.5.0 have an information disclosure vulnerability that allows API clients with a valid private API key to access sensitive member data. The vulnerability arises because UserController::users() and user() return unfiltered database rows, exposing bcrypt password hashes, non-expiring hashValidation reset tokens, and TOTP secrets. This can enable attackers to take over accounts and bypass two-factor authentication.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-108904 affects pH7Builder (pH7 Social Dating CMS) versions prior to 18.5.0. The UserController methods users() and user() return unfiltered database rows to API clients holding a valid private API key, leading to exposure of sensitive member information including bcrypt password hashes, persistent hashValidation reset tokens, and TOTP secrets. This information disclosure vulnerability can be exploited to compromise user accounts and circumvent two-factor authentication mechanisms.

Potential Impact

Attackers with a valid private API key can retrieve sensitive authentication data such as password hashes, reset tokens, and TOTP secrets. This enables account takeover and bypass of two-factor authentication, significantly compromising user security and privacy.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in pH7Builder version 18.5.0. Users should upgrade to version 18.5.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigations are specified.
