Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-109164 describes an authorization bypass vulnerability in TDuckCloud's tduck-survey-form up to version 6.0. The issue arises from insecure direct object references where authenticated users can specify arbitrary submission IDs along with a user-controlled formKey in the request path. This enables them to delete form submissions belonging to other users by iterating through submission IDs sequentially, resulting in unauthorized deletion of data platform-wide.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows authenticated users to delete other users' form submissions without proper authorization, leading to potential data loss and disruption of survey data integrity across the platform. The impact is high due to the ability to permanently remove submissions at scale.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to authenticated users with minimal privileges and monitor for suspicious deletion activity related to form submissions.
