AI-suggested

Users should review their plugin configuration to disable guest post submission or avoid using taxonomy fields in text-input mode until a fix is available. Monitor the vendor's advisory channels for updates. Since this is a stored XSS vulnerability, restricting or sanitizing user input and output escaping are critical once a patch is released.

Description

A stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the wedevs User Frontend plugin for WordPress up to version 4.3.13. The flaw arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the taxonomy_field_name parameter when configured as a text-input field with guest post submission enabled. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts that execute when users access the affected pages.
