Technical Analysis

The youlai-boot product through version 2.21.1 contains a missing authorization vulnerability identified as CVE-2026-110216. The vulnerability arises because the updateUserStatus API endpoint does not enforce @PreAuthorize checks, allowing any authenticated user to send PATCH requests to /api/v1/users/{userId}/status to change account statuses. This can lead to unauthorized disabling or enabling of accounts, including privileged accounts like root or admin.

Potential Impact

An attacker with any authenticated user privileges can disable or enable user accounts, including highly privileged accounts such as root or admin. This can result in administrators being locked out of the system or unauthorized reactivation of disabled accounts, potentially compromising system integrity and administrative control.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated user permissions to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious account status changes.
