Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-110537 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability (CWE-863) in the Essential Addons for Elementor WordPress plugin prior to version 6.8.7. The plugin's login-approval feature fails to verify that an administrator is authorized to manage the specific user accounts they attempt to modify. It only checks a general site-level capability. In WordPress Multisite setups, this flaw could enable a subsite administrator to change login approval states of user accounts from other sites on the network, potentially bypassing intended access controls.

Potential Impact

An attacker with subsite administrator privileges in a WordPress Multisite environment could exploit this vulnerability to modify the login approval status of user accounts belonging to other sites on the network. This could lead to unauthorized changes in user access permissions across sites, potentially compromising account integrity and site security within the multisite network.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the Essential Addons for Elementor plugin to version 6.8.7 or later, where this authorization issue has been fixed. No other mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
