Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Report One
Product: MyReport Updater

Description

Report One MyReport Updater through 2.1.1 exposes an unauthenticated gRPC service on TCP port 9095 that allows remote attackers to redirect the SYSTEM updater by invoking the UpdateConfigReferent method. Attackers can point the updater to a malicious reference server serving modified module archives with matching MD5 digests to write files and execute code as SYSTEM.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-110632 describes a missing authentication vulnerability in Report One MyReport Updater through version 2.1.1. The updater exposes an unauthenticated gRPC service on TCP port 9095. Attackers can exploit this by calling the UpdateConfigReferent method to redirect the SYSTEM updater to a malicious reference server. This server can serve modified module archives with matching MD5 digests, enabling the attacker to write arbitrary files and execute code with SYSTEM privileges.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM-level privileges on affected systems. This can lead to full system compromise, unauthorized file writes, and potentially persistent control over the host.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict network access to TCP port 9095 to trusted hosts only and monitor for suspicious activity targeting the gRPC service.
