CVE-2026-112332: Improper Handling of Exceptional Conditions in GDATASoftwareAG motornet
Description
Motor.NET versions before 0.19.0 have an uncaught exception vulnerability in the JsonNetDeserializer.Deserialize method. This flaw allows a remote attacker who can publish to a consumed queue or topic to crash the service permanently by sending structurally valid JSON that does not match the expected type. The vulnerability arises because JsonSerializationException is not caught, causing the service to treat the error as critical and stop the application, leading to a crash-loop due to message redelivery.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-112332 affects Motor.NET before version 0.19.0. The vulnerability is an uncaught exception in the JsonNetDeserializer.Deserialize function. When a remote attacker publishes structurally valid JSON that does not conform to the expected type, a JsonSerializationException is thrown but not caught alongside other exceptions. This causes the TypedConsumerService.SingleMessageConsumeAsync method to treat the error as a critical failure and invoke StopApplication. Since the message is unacknowledged, it is redelivered on restart, causing a permanent crash-loop of the service.
Potential Impact
An unauthenticated remote attacker with the ability to publish messages to a consumed queue or topic can cause the Motor.NET service to enter a permanent crash-loop, resulting in denial of service. This disrupts the availability of the service until manual intervention or patching occurs.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict or monitor publishing permissions to consumed queues or topics to prevent untrusted sources from sending malformed JSON messages that could trigger the crash.
