Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: DJI
Product: CrystalSky ZS600C

Description

A hidden backdoor in the DJI CrystalSky ZS600C firmware versions 0.3.9.7 through 0.6.6.9 allows a physically-present attacker with USB access to execute arbitrary commands as root. The vulnerability exists in the root-privileged 'assistant' daemon, which listens on the USB-gadget serial interface and accepts a hard-coded magic string to enable command execution.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114353 describes a hidden functionality vulnerability (CWE-912) in the DJI CrystalSky ZS600C firmware versions 0.3.9.7 through 0.6.6.9. The root-privileged 'assistant' daemon contains an undocumented backdoor that, when triggered by sending the magic string 'dji26656677' to the USB-gadget serial interface (/dev/ttyGS0), allows an attacker with physical USB access to execute arbitrary OS commands as root. Each subsequent line sent after the magic string is passed directly to the system() call, enabling full root command execution.

Potential Impact

An attacker with physical access to the device's USB interface can gain root-level command execution privileges, potentially compromising the entire system. This could lead to unauthorized control, data theft, or device manipulation. The vulnerability requires physical access and USB connectivity, limiting remote exploitation.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or fix is currently documented. Since the vulnerability requires physical USB access, restricting physical access to the device is critical. Monitor vendor advisories for any forthcoming patches or official mitigations. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance.
