Published: 10/21/2026 (10/21/2026, 12:39:48 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: polonel
Product: trudesk

Description

Trudesk versions up to 1.2.11 have an authorization bypass vulnerability allowing authenticated users to modify tickets outside their assigned groups. This occurs via the PUT /api/v1/tickets/:id and PUT /api/v2/tickets/batch endpoints, where arbitrary ticket ObjectIds can be supplied to change ticket attributes or mass-close tickets. The vulnerability arises because only the default tickets:update role is checked, enabling unauthorized ticket modifications.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114393 describes an authorization bypass in Trudesk through version 1.2.11. Authenticated users can exploit the PUT /api/v1/tickets/:id and PUT /api/v2/tickets/batch endpoints by supplying arbitrary ticket ObjectIds, allowing them to modify tickets outside their groups. The flaw is due to insufficient authorization checks, as only the default tickets:update role is verified, permitting changes to ticket status, subject, group, priority, assignee, or mass-closing tickets without proper group membership validation.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authenticated access can modify or mass-close tickets outside their authorized groups, potentially disrupting ticket management and workflow integrity. This could lead to unauthorized changes in ticket status, assignment, and priority, impacting operational processes.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict authenticated user permissions carefully and monitor for unauthorized ticket modifications.
