Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114394 describes an authorization bypass in Trudesk through version 1.2.11. Authenticated users can supply user-controlled ownerId or owner parameters in postComment, postInternalNote, and ticket create API requests to attribute content to other users, including administrators. This flaw allows forging of comments, internal notes, and tickets on any ticket, bypassing intended authorization controls.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users can impersonate other users, including administrators, by forging content such as comments, internal notes, and tickets. This could lead to misinformation, unauthorized ticket creation, and potential disruption of ticket management processes. However, the vulnerability requires authentication and does not allow privilege escalation beyond the authenticated user's level.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity involving ownerId or owner parameters in API requests.
