Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: mem0ai
Product: mem0

Description

mem0 versions from 0.1.117 up to but not including 1.0.8 contain an SQL injection vulnerability in the file mem0/vector_stores/databricks.py. This vulnerability allows attackers to inject SQL commands by manipulating stored memory content such as memory text, metadata, or message names. The injection occurs due to unescaped string interpolation in insert() and update() operations targeting a Databricks SQL warehouse. The vulnerability has a critical severity with a CVSS 4.0 score of 9.2.

Technical Analysis

The mem0 software prior to version 1.0.8 (starting from 0.1.117) has an SQL injection vulnerability in the databricks.py module. Attackers can influence stored memory content that is used unsafely in SQL insert and update commands, enabling execution of arbitrary SQL on the configured Databricks SQL warehouse. This occurs because the insert() and update() functions perform string interpolation without proper escaping or neutralization of special SQL elements.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an attacker to execute arbitrary SQL commands on the Databricks SQL warehouse configured with mem0, potentially leading to data manipulation, data leakage, or other unauthorized database operations. The vulnerability requires network access and partial user interaction but no privileges or authentication. The CVSS 4.0 score of 9.2 indicates a critical impact with high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, avoid using affected versions or restrict access to the affected functionality to trusted users only.
